1st ISCAR Latin American Congress
The Presidential Committee invites the scientific community to the 1st ISCAR Latin American Congress an international event that will bring together researchers, lecturers, students and professionals from diverse fields that engage with Socio-Cultural-Historical Activity Theory.

Under the theme “Esperançar in Latin America: Building Pathways to Social Justice with Socio-Cultural-Historical Activity Theory”, the Congress will take place from 28 to 31 October 2026 at the State University of Paraíba, Campina Grande campus, in conjunction with the Centre for Education and the Department of Psychology. The event will be held in person, with selected lectures streamed via YouTube, gathering researchers from several Latin American countries and partner international institutions.
This initiative marks a historic moment as the first ISCAR Congress specifically focused on Latin America, fostering debate on education, psychology, social justice, Southern epistemologies, decoloniality, inclusion, digital technologies and social transformation. The event will also celebrate the 130th anniversary of the birth of Lev Vygotsky.

Registration and Submission of Papers
Interested researchers may now submit papers in the form of oral communications or dialogue posters. Deadlines are organised in batches:
1st batch: 14 April to 14 June 2026
2nd batch: 15 July to 15 August 2026
3rd batch: 16 August to 16 September 2026
The final deadline to request a reduced fee is 14 June 2026.
